| Tim Breland takes his hand with a
paper rocket design in light of the growing popularity with paper rockets. A
wonderful little flier that can be printed out on a single sheet of card stock. Tim provided the following information with his entry:
Jim;
Attached is the final pattern for the Lil' Smoke rocket along with directions and some
pics. I would like to enter it in May's contest.
Description:
The Lil' Smoke is a 13mm rocket made from card stock or photo paper. If you enjoy
Fliskits' Midnight Express, then you'll like the Lil' Smoke. The Lil' Smoke is easy to
assemble and delivers great flights. An A3 or A10 will put it out of sight. 1/4A or
1/2A's are also impressive, but a bit easier to recover. The idea was to have the
fins look like smoke trails that were coming from the rocket. I got this idea from a
certain pic of a certain rocket that flew on 2 38mm Smoky Sams.
I've included static pics and pics of the liftoff and recovery, but it's hard to see the
rocket due to it's size. In the liftoff pic, the rocket is that little blur at the
top of the smoke trail. In the recovery pic, it is in the tree, but didn't stay there long
thanks to a long pole and the short tree.
Time to build an 18mm version now.
Thanks,
Tim Breland
