Deuce
Booster

October entry #4, the Deuce Booster by Jim Myers
of Minnesota
The email from Jim has this to say:
Here is my DOM entry which is so
blatantly "inspired" by the Fliskits Deuces Wild! that I feel guilty even
entering it. But, Jim said "enter it" so here goes:
The Deuces Wild is a fun rocket with
it's unique canted motor design and dual smoke trails. I have "borrowed" that
idea and made a gap staged version I call the Deucester Booster. It uses the geometry of
the Deuces Wild! for the booster stage with a single motor sustainer. The booster motors
have a BT-50 stuffer tube that directs the burning particles/gasses to the sustainer
motor. Large vent holes ensure that the booster does not separate before sustainer
ignition.
I have flown this model successfully twice, and look forward to getting a bunch more
booster motors!
