The Triple
Threat kit is a hoot to buld and to fly! Three little 13mm flying
saucers in one kit. A bargan at twice the price! However, I often find myself wishing I could launch them all at once and
flood the skies with these little threats to the space-ways. Even at a club launch,
where they can handle drag races, with pad 10-20 feet apart, it just doesn't capture the
mood with these tiny little rockets.
So, I had an idea to build a special launch pad custom made
for these little guys. It worked out so well that I wanted to share it with others
who own the Triple Threat, or any small rockets that they wish to drag race.
This pad is simply made with a few small pieces of wood, some
wire and tie wraps, micro clips and a bit of glue. The finished pad is about 8
inches across in the form of a triangle, with one rocket at each point of the triangle.
The center (hub) of the launch pad has a 1/8" launch lug so that you can take
this entire assembly, rockets and all, and simply slip it onto any standard model rocket
launch pad with a 1/8" launch rod!
The harness that you build into the pad allows you to hook up
all 3 rockets allowing you to use the launchers micro clips to hook up to the pad (you
will effectively build a 3 motor custom clip whip to attach to the pad).
I think you will enjoy this little addition to your Triple
Threat fleet. Also, this small pad can be used to drag race any number of other
small rockets. Check it out!
