NARAM 46 was a very exciting time. It has taken me many
months to get the photo album on line and I apologize for that. I should have gotten
this album up right away while the images and emotion were still fresh in my memory.
Be that as it may, better late than never :) I wish to
extend my personal thanks to all of the folks responsible for organizing this event (no
small task) and also to the Estes' (Vern and Gleda) as well as the McLawhorn's (Carl and
Sheryl and Bruce). Simply wonderful people through and through :)
We had a very exciting two day sport fly, then the
competition took over the main field and sport flying was moved out to the high power
sport range. I didn't do as much flying then, but it was still great! I can't
describe how much fun it was and how exciting it was to see some incredible contest
flying. The glide events and scale always take my breath away and there were no
disappointments either!
I was able to fly many of my kits and was thrilled to have
Vern Estes fly my Sprint'73 again this year, on flight #421. It was great being
parked next to the SEMROC booth. Carl, Sheryl and Bruce have become fast friends and
we love just hanging out during the slow periods.
It was also great to finally bump into long time rocket buddy
Scott Branche. He was present with Bill Stine to test some rather incredible models.
Not sure if they are proto-types for potential kits, but certainly keep your eyes
open :) It was also great to be able to spend some time with Bill and other notables
whom I have come to know and enjoy time with. Mike Erpelding , Peter and Robert
Alway, my buddy Bob Kaplow, Kevin Johnson, Lila Schmaker, Mike Howie and of course, Carl
Tulanko and a whole host of others too numerous to list. If FlisKits has done
nothing else for me personally, its given me reason to participate and enjoy rocketry with
a fine group of people several times a year!

I hope to see many new and old friends at NARAM 47.
