Waiting for glue to dry is a good time to go over rocketry basics and rocketry safety

Group photo on Launch Day!  Everyone is excited and every one is READY TO FLY!

Special Launch: I always begin a launch like this with a rack of my own models.  We first launched the Pheord X150.  That was followed by this launch, the 474th for the Sprint that I built in 1973.  It will be retired at 500 launches.  Next up was my own Triskelion with a B motor.

This young girl was SO proud of her rocket, and rightfully so.  A broken igniter followed by crossed clips resulted in 3 attempts before her beautiful Triskelion flew.

Launch pictures!  these are all Triskelion kits.  If you were a part of this program, see if you can pick out YOUR rocket screaming into the sky!

There it goes!  That colorful one belonging the the young girl makes it into the sky!

3 boys pose with their rockets ready to go.  I love the one on the right as he did a wonderful job with the blue sky and clouds.  However, not a good choice on a day with blue sky and clouds...

But it flew great and we got it back no problem

A little more angle for the B motor birds, but we still landed 2 in the trees.

Here she is coming back on full chute

Only to land in a tree at the edge of the field.  The inset image shows a close up of the rocket in the tree.

3 of the girls pose with their rockets.  That little girl in the center did a wonderful job on her rocket and it flew beautifully.  Quite a job for one so young.   She should be proud (as should ALL these students!)

And away she goes!
p1011077.jpg (71694 bytes)
Instead of taking a picture of her rocket launching I decided to get a picture of her launching it.  Such concentration!

One of the best launch pictures of the day.

I also close our rocket launches with some of our kits.  First up is the upcoming Espresso kit (anniversary kit for NSL-2005)

Followed by the Praetor.  This is the *original* Praetor that I first built in the late 80's, from which the kit was designed.  Also on the pads is the 13mm Deuce of Hazard.  I missed the launch picture though!

I can't believe I actually caught this one.  That is an Estes Nome on an A10 motor.   Whew!

Last one up was another Triskelion.  It is a good thing we were finished as we noticed some other kids coming onto the field to play ball.
