One of MANY Triskelion kits flown on our anniversary!
dsc00697.jpg (35011 bytes)
Perfect flight, perfect recovery!
dsc00698.jpg (103302 bytes)
Bob Harrington readies his Cheetah!
dsc00699.jpg (81061 bytes)
Glenn strikes the most common CMASS pose as he stares skyward surrounded by a fleet of FlisKits kits!
dsc00700.jpg (109086 bytes)
As I've seen on bumper stickers, "It ain't over till the Big Papi swings!"
dsc00701.jpg (145595 bytes)
Bill Ralston was FINALLY able to attend a launch!  We've missed ya, Bill.  t'was good to see you again :)
dsc00702.jpg (136058 bytes)
John Harland checking the crowd during his stint as RSO as a multi-staged bird takes off behind him.
dsc00703.jpg (188622 bytes)
Bill's large selection of FlisKits kits.  This, the largest fleet on the field, won Bill a new
Morning Star kit!
dsc00704.jpg (168920 bytes)
Some of John's beautifully finished FlisKits grace his table.
dsc00705.jpg (153400 bytes)
One of several Corona kits seen this day
dsc00706.jpg (53261 bytes)
Another Triskelion soars past the CMASS flag
dsc00708.jpg (113744 bytes)
Recovery is an important part of rocketry.  Dad's are critical!
dsc00707.jpg (130133 bytes)
A wonderful UFFO makes an appearance!
dsc00709.jpg (76688 bytes)
And away we go!
dsc00710.jpg (46005 bytes)
Perfect flight perfect recovery.  The day was filled with flights like this!
dsc00711.jpg (35104 bytes)
Tony Vincent's SEMROC (Don't know the name of this kit!) turns in a perfect flight!
dsc00712.jpg (127528 bytes)
Here we have the UFFO being preped for launch.
dsc00713.jpg (51160 bytes)
John Buscaglia's (I think) tube finned multi-staged rocket.  Great boost but failed to light the sustainer.  That's called a "Lawn Dart", folks...
dsc00714.jpg (32566 bytes)
UFFO lumbers into the air.  The boy flying this noted that it broke upon landing and commented that this particular FlisKits kit doesn't seem to last long.  Well, that's just the nature of foam cup rockets.  A touch of glue and she'll be good as new!
dsc00715.jpg (105841 bytes)
Tony, like so many around him, sits at his table preparing rockets for flight.
dsc00716.jpg (64531 bytes)
There be Rhino's in the air!
dsc00718.jpg (40251 bytes)
And fallin' from the sky!
dsc00719.jpg (119427 bytes)
Bill loads his
A.C.M.E. Spitfire
on the pad
dsc00721.jpg (91367 bytes)
A beautiful Mars Lander gets some air time.
dsc00722.jpg (63370 bytes)
Bob's Richter Recker on a triplet of motors!
dsc00724.jpg (25901 bytes)
The Drake just looks SO KEWL in the air!
dsc00725.jpg (66766 bytes)
And the Thing-a-ma-Jig turns in some of the straightest flights ever!
dsc00726.jpg (131552 bytes)
CMASS city as residents relax, prep their models and spend the day socializing.
dsc00727.jpg (98571 bytes)
The FlisKits booth in all her glory.
dsc00728.jpg (105440 bytes)
Another of the many Triskelion kits flown this day
dsc00729.jpg (147545 bytes)
Proto type H2O model ready for her maiden flight!
dsc00730.jpg (74081 bytes)
And the H2O puts in a good show on an A8-3
dsc00731.jpg (119388 bytes)
This looks like Doug Gardei's Cheetah on a 1/2A6-0/A8-3 combo
dsc00732.jpg (161808 bytes)
Jim's proto type Micro to the MAXX HERC-5 on her maiden flight
dsc00733.jpg (41451 bytes)
Another shot from a different perspective.  Expect this model to be released at NEMROC in November.
dsc00734.jpg (22418 bytes)
Hard to do, but I actually caught this bugger in flight!
dsc00735.jpg (70736 bytes)
A D-Nelson Tomahawk burns some BP
dsc00737.jpg (103728 bytes)
A true oddity, Bill Ralston had his Tumbleweed blown apart by an aggressive ejection charge.  I have never seen anything like this and never would have thought it possible...
dsc00739.jpg (71000 bytes)
Another Drake.  Yep, she sure do look purty in the air!
dsc00740.jpg (68643 bytes)
Jim's proto type  Denali ready to go on a C6-5.  Expected release late 2008
dsc00741.jpg (52553 bytes)
This is another bird that just looks wonderful under power.
dsc00742.jpg (54373 bytes)
And under 'chute too!
dsc00743.jpg (123492 bytes)
One of the reasons we're all here today.  Cake!
dsc00744.jpg (77706 bytes)
Good looking too!
dsc00746.jpg (136357 bytes)
Kathy cutting the cake.  It tasted every bit as good as it looked!
dsc00747.jpg (61195 bytes)
Cool rocket launch.  Not sure who's or what...
dsc00748.jpg (113164 bytes)
John Harland's beautifully finished HERC-5.  Since the body tubes are curved, he chose to sand a complimentary curve into the fins.  I never thought of this, but it looks SO much better this way!  Good job, John!
dsc00749.jpg (186061 bytes)
Another angle.  Yep, still looks great!
dsc00750.jpg (60699 bytes)
A picture perfect launch of a Tres!
dsc00751.jpg (41686 bytes)
Another of the many proto types Jim flew this day.  The Dead Ringer Micro to the MAXX model.  This is very reminiscent of the Borealis design with similar elements.
dsc00752.jpg (39865 bytes)
A nice angle shot and the inset shows that I caught this one in flight too!  Getting better with my new camera!
dsc00754.jpg (61769 bytes)
Thing-a-ma-Jigs were almost as prevalent as Triskelion's!
dsc00756.jpg (67450 bytes)
Group photo of the Frick-n-Frack drag racers!  Doug missed this photo op but we had 6 flier, 7 models and a total of 14 motors burned during this, the most exciting drag race I have ever seen!
dsc00758.jpg (95014 bytes)
Here's a shot of 4 of the 7 Frick-n-Frack models on the pad
dsc00759.jpg (111943 bytes)
Doug gets back from the Away Cell just in time to get his Frick-n-Frack on the pad for the drag race.
dsc00760.jpg (57831 bytes)
Only got 3 of the models burning in this picture, but all 7 did lift off.  On the far left you can just see the smoke of ignition on the 3rd one.  Man, that was exciting!  Saucer parts EVERYWHERE!
dsc00762.jpg (52212 bytes)
Jim's proto type Avalear, the NEMROC anniversary kit for next month.  This model is named after Glen Avalear in memory of his life and contribution to our hobby.
dsc00764.jpg (29578 bytes)
The Avalear turns in a perfect flight on an A8-3
dsc00767.jpg (63772 bytes)
One of many HPR flights for the day.
dsc00768.jpg (114009 bytes)
A very nice looking Freedom Forge Missile.  Note that the lower fins are swept forward on this build.  Something that the builder (name?) did to help protect them from breakage.  A great idea and a cool looking modification too!
dsc00769.jpg (140569 bytes)
John's HERC-5 takes to the air!
dsc00770.jpg (142357 bytes)
Two Triskelion's and a Rock Solid Deuce's Wild! to boot! (names??)
dsc00771.jpg (72688 bytes)
Jennifer's friends Arthur and his son Jake built this Thing-a-ma-Jig on the field and got her into the air more than once today!  Congrats on a great build and successful set of flights!
dsc00773.jpg (100812 bytes)
Another shot of the crowd on this most perfect launch day!
dsc00775.jpg (122199 bytes)
Posing with their Triskelion's before a drag race!
dsc00776.jpg (115810 bytes)
A most unique scratch built with a nose cone that is nearly 7" long!  The longest nose cone (for that diameter) I have ever seen.  A simply beautiful design that flew great!
dsc00777.jpg (52597 bytes)
An HPR bird takes off in the distance at Away Cell A
dsc00778.jpg (52553 bytes)
Another Thing-a-ma-Jig, painted like a candy cane, gets good air
dsc00780.jpg (112374 bytes)
Cameron Kruger was the big winner today with a Whatcamacallit and a Morning Star!  Congrat Cameron!
dsc00782.jpg (85636 bytes)
It wouldn't be a FlisKits launch without a Deuce's Wild! in the air!
dsc00783.jpg (41538 bytes)
Jim Salem's Bucky Jones turns in a beautiful flight!
dsc00784.jpg (54901 bytes)
Bill Spadafora's vintage Estes 1:70 scale Saturn 1B turns in a great flight even though only 3 of the 4 motors lit.
dsc00785.jpg (44093 bytes)
Another D-Nelson Tomahawk finds the sky
dsc00786.jpg (136693 bytes)
Doug shows me his modification to the Cheetah that helps reduce staging problems.
DSC00786crop.jpg (102786 bytes)
This closeup shoes how he extended the booster and put a reverse motor block to keep the booster motor from kicking out the back.  Great modification!

It's very rare that Jim gets a picture in the photo album as he is the one behind the camera most of the time (photo by Jen)
p1010056.jpg (101226 bytes)
Arthur with his FlisKits catalog is getting ready to get the most out of this hobby with the right kits!
