p1010137.jpg (47469 bytes)
Dick Nelson and Steve Michael's share a moment after Dick's seminar on the good old days.
p1010139.jpg (49805 bytes)
Much to my surprise, this was one of the poster size pictures that Dick had brought with him as a part of his talk...  oh man... LOL
p1010140.jpg (67929 bytes)
A close up of some of Fred's models
p1010141.jpg (83577 bytes)
yet MORE models!
p1010143a.jpg (107349 bytes)
Dick Nelson, Jim and Glen Avalear pose for the camera.  This time of day the lighing was very strange and the picture came out dark in places and light in others.  I edited it enough to bring out our faces, but...
Day 2 - Launch!
p1010144.jpg (58122 bytes)
First up for the day was a FlisKits Thing-a-ma-Jig!  One of many!
p1010145.jpg (62976 bytes)
Here's Fred getting one ready for launch
p1010146.jpg (63262 bytes)
Here is one of Scott Clement's Halloween creations, a pumpkin rocket
p1010148.jpg (91570 bytes)
This is what makes such a day so special.  Smiling kids with rockets!  This boy had just recovered his and was quite happy about the whole thing!
p1010149.jpg (59428 bytes)
Scott makes an adjustment before launch
p1010150.jpg (70247 bytes)
One of the many highlights, this beautifully upscaled Triskelion model!  Simply incredible!
p1010151.jpg (72104 bytes)
Here's the business end.  I can't recall the motor used, but it was very impressive (see further below)
p1010152.jpg (87055 bytes)
Ok, here's where it gets weird.  Scott's pumpkin rocket takes to the air and then....
p1010153.jpg (15120 bytes)
...Pumpkins EVERYWHERE!
LOL
p1010154.jpg (70053 bytes)
Another Thing-a-ma-Jig (TamJ for short)
p1010155.jpg (33166 bytes)
Perfect recovery for most every one flown too!
p1010157.jpg (65985 bytes)
Like I said, a LOT of TamJ kits out here today :)  A perfect way to help us celebrate our 4th Anniversary
p1010159.jpg (64278 bytes)
Crowds of rocketeers, family and friends sharing this warm sunny day.
p1010160.jpg (60262 bytes)
The Scouts were out in full force today as well having built TamJ's at a recent meeting.
p1010161.jpg (57759 bytes)
Scott's at it again with his "Witch on a broom" rocket!
p1010162.jpg (87323 bytes)
This was an interesting model with fins that resemble the drag-plates used in some air to surface missiles.
p1010163.jpg (23038 bytes)
Into the air goes the "Witch on a broom"!
p1010164.jpg (17423 bytes)
Only to grace us with a perfect recovery :)
p1010165.jpg (64697 bytes)
That scale like model turned in a nice flight too!
p1010166.jpg (83718 bytes)
Even the mom's got into the act here today!
p1010169.jpg (71063 bytes)
The Deuce's Wild! with her trademark dual smoke trail!
p1010170.jpg (45121 bytes)
Another TamJ takes to the air!
p1010171.jpg (38125 bytes)
The boilerplate for the FlisKits version of the newly announced D-Nelson Tomahawk kit
p1010172.jpg (64052 bytes)
I can not for the life of me recall the name of this kit nor the owner.  I know I have seen it before and just LOVE it.
p1010173.jpg (28664 bytes)
The D-Nelson Tomahawk takes to the air on a C6-5.  Beautiful flight!
p1010174.jpg (27912 bytes)
And perfect recovery!
p1010176.jpg (87063 bytes)
We had a large crowd of about 220 people here for most of the day.
p1010177.jpg (65176 bytes)
Molly Ralston poses with her Triskelion just before launch.  I just LOVE it! :)
p1010179.jpg (88596 bytes)
This is my Decaffeinator with the glider accessory.  I will be drag racing with Bill Ralston's matching model.
p1010180.jpg (66345 bytes)
One of several high power flights.  I don't know the kit name nor the owner.   any help would be wonderful!
p1010182.jpg (41643 bytes)
I missed the launch of this one, but got a good recovery shot
p1010183.jpg (64630 bytes)
Here's another great launch pix
p1010184.jpg (29775 bytes)
And recovery to boot!
p1010185.jpg (40825 bytes)
Decaffeinator's away!  Mine had a D12-3 and Bill's had an E9-4.  Great flights and perfect glider deployment on both!
P1010186a.jpg (19797 bytes)
Here is a shot of Bill's glider as it nearly left the field!
p1010187.jpg (53718 bytes)
From the thumbnail you'd guess this was a Deuce's Wild!, well you'd be WRONG!  It is the "Tin Man", creation of Scott Clement.  A cleverly decorated A.C.M.E. Spitfire with a Deuce engine mount!  Incredible.
p1010188.jpg (53982 bytes)
Sometimes the lines got long, but they moved fast.
p1010189.jpg (60537 bytes)

p1010191.jpg (85233 bytes)
My original proto-type Rose-A-Roc on the pad.
p1010192.jpg (60521 bytes)
While Bill sets up his ACME Spitfire too
p1010193.jpg (33908 bytes)
Perfect boost on the Rose-A-Roc.  Perfect apogee deployment and she spun up to the point where you could barely see the blades.  A nice soft landing too.
p1010194.jpg (64333 bytes)
Would you believe a Deuce with side pods!?
p1010195.jpg (68891 bytes)
Believe it!

Dave Stout said the flight (which I missed...) was high, straight and perfectly nominal, other than losing both boosters!
p1010196.jpg (65068 bytes)
My little proto type slide wing Micromaxx rocket glider (no name yet)
p1010197.jpg (79457 bytes)
Here's another view.  No launch pix.  I wanted to be able to keep a good eye on this thing!  Perfectly straight boost, apogee deployment of the main wing, long flat glide on a perfect trim.
p1010198.jpg (31027 bytes)
Original proto type of the Up Scale (US) TOG slated for an October release at the iHobby Expo.
p1010199.jpg (33341 bytes)
Here's another view
p1010200.jpg (36796 bytes)
Meanwhile, a drag race of TamJ's took place!
p1010201.jpg (54132 bytes)
Then the US TOG.  On a D12-5, perfectly straight boost, parachute at apogee!
p1010202.jpg (33802 bytes)
And a nice soft landing.
p1010204.jpg (75088 bytes)
Here sits the upscale Triskelion waiting for launch
p1010206.jpg (90434 bytes)
As Tony Vincent poses with his beautifully finished Corona-2

Gentle as a leaf, she touches down.
p1010211.jpg (70110 bytes)
Bill Ralston's Tri-Glide puts in a perfect flight
p1010212.jpg (27993 bytes)

p1010213.jpg (89773 bytes)
Here I am signing that beautiful upscale Triskelion.
p1010214.jpg (60732 bytes)
Another Corona takes to the sky!
p1010216.jpg (43274 bytes)
My Tres (the original proto type) waits her turn for launch
p1010217.jpg (42821 bytes)
And off she goes on a triplet of C6-5 motors!
p1010218.jpg (35975 bytes)
And a perfect recovery too
p1010220.jpg (60451 bytes)
Another TamJ drag race!  These things were EVERYWHERE!
Thanks a Million1A.jpg (120189 bytes)
Glen A. sent me this picture of him presenting me with a $1,000,000 bill and a hearty handshake with the sentiment "Thanks a million, Jim!"

Well, thank YOU, Glen, and everyone who participated in NEMROC 2006!
