FlisKits at the iHobby Expo in Chicago
2006 was the year of trade shows for FlisKits. This
year we banked our efforts to show our product to the largest audience we could muster,
mainly the retail public. We began with the HobbyTown USA convention in Lincoln, NE
and finished with the iHobby Expo in Chicago in October.
This was a very busy time for FlisKits. We just had our
anniversary celebration, our convention (NEMROC) and were in the process of announcing 3
new kits. Roll all that up with a convention and we were very, very busy.
It was a good show though and, unknown to us at the time, the
largest turnout of rocketry vendors EVER at the iHobby show. With SEMROC, Apogee,
AeroTech, Quest, Balsa Machining and more, it was like attending a sport rocket launch
most anywhere in the country. Lots of friends and good times. Spending the
evening with Bunny at his house with scores of other rocketry friends was a special treat
and to listen to Bill Stine describe his visit to Russia with the Internats team was a
joy!
FlisKits was very well received at the show by both retailers
and the buying public alike. This show is incredible and the attached photo album
doesn't touch on the excitement (note, we took limited pictures because photography was
very limited at the show. All pictures at the show are from in and around our own
booth.
