Bill S. walks by as Bill R. A.C.M.E. Spitfire launches on a D12. Turned in a perfectly straight flight!
p1010058.jpg (61990 bytes)
Bill's ACME is also one of the most beautiful, hosting many battle scars including those earned while it sat in a tree for a weeks worth of rain and wind.  Probably the most dilapidated rocket ever, simply adding to its charm!
p1010059.jpg (61342 bytes)
Here is a tail end view of this ACME showing the level of damage this model has seen, yet still flies as well (or better) and any other rocket!

A beautiful scratch built beast from the mind of Tony Vincent using all Fliskits parts including a 24mm Deuce motor mount

My Diminutive Deuce ready for launch.  A perfect flight too!

Doug gets ready to fly his Just Past Due when he forgets where he put the darned thing!
p1010072.jpg (33119 bytes)
Cheetah away!  A perfect 2-stage flight.  Actually, we must have had 4-5 Cheetah! flights this day
p1010073.jpg (33276 bytes)
One of three micro saucers based on the Triple Threat kit.  These are downloadable for free build and fly great!
p1010074.jpg (36598 bytes)
Doug's Just Past Due ready for flight.  She turned in 2 great flights today!
p1010075.jpg (29504 bytes)
An attempt at a drag race between two Laser X kits, but pad 1 didn't launch on the first attempt.
p1010077.jpg (14456 bytes)
The yet to be announced Adfecta poised on the launch pad for her maiden flight.
p1010078.jpg (57565 bytes)
We had a nice crowd throughout the day

Richter Recker away!  Beautiful flight start to finish
p1010080.jpg (20409 bytes)
An interesting angle for the Adfecta

Off she goes!  One of my favorite features of this kit is the unique balsa adapter that this kit uses.
P1010077crop.JPG (40779 bytes)
Here is a close-up of that adapter
p1010083.jpg (19657 bytes)
She turns in a perfect flight and looked as good in the air as she does on my desk!
p1010084.jpg (50169 bytes)
Doug poses with his Diminutive Deuce ready for launch
p1010085.jpg (38238 bytes)
And I caught it too!  Perfect flight.  This picture gives a good indication of what some of the gusts were like as she weather-cocks into the wind.
p1010086.jpg (83111 bytes)
Another micro-saucer ready to go.  These beasts were quick off the pad, but only flew to about 25-30 feet.  PERFECT for front yard rocketry!
p1010087.jpg (39830 bytes)
Here is a modified Tres lofting on 2 of 3 motors.  These motors are mounted at the mid point of the model producing a very interesting effect.  In the case of this flight, she only had 2 motors burning and she also dragged the launch clip-whip up for the whole flight.
p1010089.jpg (59602 bytes)
Daughter Jennifer weathering the cold for the sake of a good launch
p1010091.jpg (15926 bytes)
I missed the launch photo, but here is a Drake kit after a great flight
p1010092.jpg (56964 bytes)
Students loft an egg while Bill Ralston waits to launch is modified Rhino on an F motor...   Bill had a perfect flight but lost his motor casing.  I can not BELIEVE that he actually got the rocket back!
p1010093.jpg (68079 bytes)
Another Cheetah! ready to go.
p1010094.jpg (52016 bytes)
And go she does!  Single stage, to keep from loosing her, but she performs great that way too.
p1010095.jpg (41722 bytes)
Doug's Mars Lander begins a less than perfect flight, but she suffered minimal damage.
p1010096.jpg (67807 bytes)
We even had cake!  This was to celebrate a successful Level 2 attempt.  Good cake too!
p1010097.jpg (66521 bytes)
Scott Clement poses with his A.C.M.E. Spitfire decorated up as the "Tin Man".   A mirror finish, top to bottom.
p1010098.jpg (64253 bytes)
Here you can see the Tin Man's face.
p1010099.jpg (58639 bytes)
And a tail photo reveals the Deuce mount making this a very unusual A.C.M.E. model.   Scott didn't fly it this day due to the high winds.
p1010100.jpg (125724 bytes)
Lastly, I flew my CAUTION rocket only to have the streamer and nose cone fail to eject, resulting in a lawn dart.
Ick.
