NEMROC Day 2 - Launch!

Here is the FlisKits booth.  Man, we REALLY have to look into buying a couple of table skirts LOL.  I was joined by my daughter Jen and partner Brian and we all had a great time!

We had several vendors including Fred Talasko of Excelsior Rocketry (pictured) and Al Gloer and John Cronin selling motors.  Was a good showing.

Fred's Red Max diorama is always worth a look

I hosted the two morning build sessions, the first of which was for the paper NEMROC rocket provided in the registration packet.  For a Skill Level 1 model, it was a bit more work than folks anticipated, but all did well even with all the cutting!

Cutting, cutting and MORE cutting.  The models weren't hard to build, but time consuming with the scissors

We even had Paul Manning helping with the younger attendees.

Billy Ralston and his friend set a good pace

We even had a mom/son team tackle the NEMROC!

The second build session was devoted to the UFFO foam cup saucer kit donated by FlisKits to the first 15 signups.  It was a full, fun, crazy session!

Gluing, gluing and MORE gluing!  The foam cup rockets are not hard to build but it is an exotic building material if you are not used to it, and few had experience with a hot glue gun (emphasis on HOT)

Everyone seemed to do very well, with all kits being completed.  I am hoping for a massive drag race if we get to launch

A closing picture of Fred with his CEV sport scale.  This thing is just beautiful!
