Working hard to complete our models, the kids are anticipating launching next week.
p1010003.jpg (70007 bytes)
Well, some are just hamming it up for the camera too LOL
p1010015.jpg (88120 bytes)
A gaggle of kids?  hhmmm, a herd? no, that isn't right.  Maybe a litter? nope.   OH yeah! A PRIDE of kids.  Cuz I'm so proud of them all!
p1010016.jpg (64460 bytes)
And they're proud of themselves too!
p1010017.jpg (40647 bytes)
For good reason too!  One great flight after another!
p1010018.jpg (15891 bytes)
With perfect recovery even!
p1010019.jpg (68001 bytes)
Finger ont he button, and away she goes!
p1010020.jpg (62466 bytes)
Beautiful, sunny day, late in the afternoon, creating long shadows...
p1010021.jpg (50920 bytes)
Up! Up in the sky!  It's a bird!  It's a plane!  No!, It's a Triskelion!
p1010023.jpg (94247 bytes)
THIS is excitement and anticipation!
p1010024.jpg (69456 bytes)
The tough guys :)
p1010026.jpg (48547 bytes)
Even tough guys have to chase their rockets!
p1010027.jpg (76835 bytes)
Some beautiful work went into all of these rocket kits!
p1010028.jpg (74765 bytes)
This was had lots of extra detail including pin stripes and decals
p1010029.jpg (77768 bytes)
This one made good use of stickers.
p1010031.jpg (14687 bytes)
And they all made good use of their motors and parachutes!
p1010033.jpg (60017 bytes)
Everyone recovered their own rockets.  This one went WAY downrange, but still in the field.
p1010037.jpg (77146 bytes)
I closed each launch session with a small demo of some of my models.  The kids really loved seeing the UFFO go up!
p1010071.jpg (63811 bytes)
On to the Rhino.  We cut, we read, we changed and modified.
p1010073.jpg (54428 bytes)
We even did some design work!
p1010035.jpg (51291 bytes)
All of which lead to this!
p1010036.jpg (53371 bytes)
And this too!
p1010160.jpg (63667 bytes)
Proud and excited as they wait to launch their Rhino's
p1010162.jpg (70041 bytes)
This rocket on the left had the fins glued on tangent to the body tube.  A great look!  The one on the right was built stock just like the cover art on the kit.   This is my favorite way of building the Rhino!
p1010163.jpg (77584 bytes)
Even odd design changes work with the Rhino kit!
p1010164.jpg (35693 bytes)
Rocket retreived as many other school kids get involved in the launch festivities.
p1010165.jpg (54308 bytes)
Off we go into the wild blue yonder!
p1010167.jpg (80239 bytes)
From bright colors to stickers and decals, there was no problem identifying whose rockets were whose!
p1010168.jpg (51577 bytes)
Even in flight, each and every kit had its own distinctive look
p1010169.jpg (16295 bytes)
Perfect recovery.  We had several C motor flights that took up the ENTIRE field, with 2 models landing within 5 feet of the school building.
p1010170.jpg (62292 bytes)
The last launch of the last session of the last class.  A bitter-sweet moment.
