As with the last class, I forgot my camera for the first (and second) session, so here we are with completed Triskelion kits ready to launch
p1010002.jpg (73723 bytes)
We preped our rockets in the classroom then ventured out into the field to fly
p1010003.jpg (84516 bytes)
Proud as punch as they hook up their igniter leads and pose for a picture
p1010004.jpg (71726 bytes)
Liftoff into the bright blue sky!  Every launch perfect, every flight a sight to behold!
p1010005.jpg (73915 bytes)
Recovering your rocket was as much fun as flying them!
p1010006.jpg (36453 bytes)
We filled the sky with Triskelions for the better part of an hour
p1010007.jpg (66624 bytes)
Then watched them gently float back down
p1010008.jpg (61434 bytes)
Even with a sprained ankle, we still fly rockets!
p1010009.jpg (70109 bytes)
Thumb on the launch button, two weeks worth of work scream into the sky!
p1010010.jpg (73503 bytes)
The intensity and enjoyment is clearly evident in their faces!
p1010011.jpg (100517 bytes)
The one that got away...   ...well, not really, just had to walk *around* the fence.
p1010012.jpg (77764 bytes)
Hooking up the clips for the first time ever
p1010013.jpg (87516 bytes)
Proud of their work and ready to fly!
p1010014.jpg (82073 bytes)
And fly they do!
p1010038.jpg (68591 bytes)
WOrking on the Rhino's now.  Much customizing taking place in here today.
p1010039.jpg (58990 bytes)
Decisions on fin shape and shaping the edges.  Some work in groups...
p1010040.jpg (57066 bytes)
...some prefer to work alone.
p1010041.jpg (60440 bytes)
And all of them have fun!
p1010042.jpg (50946 bytes)
Couldn't resist this picture of my puppies on a lazy Thursday afternoon.  You can just SEE the excitement in their eyes as daddy comes home...
p1010068.jpg (59368 bytes)
The Rhino kits are done with the exception of the parachute.
p1010069.jpg (54898 bytes)
hhmmm, measure once, cut twice...  ...wait a minute, that can't be right... :)
p1010070.jpg (53557 bytes)
Finishing up the parachutes we also worked on designs and ideas
p1010128.jpg (79600 bytes)
Out on the field for our second launch, we have Rhino's ready and waiting!
p1010131.jpg (71232 bytes)
It was a very overcast day and I did not get a single suitable launch picture, so we have a lot of posed pictures of the proud kids and their rockets.
p1010134.jpg (12803 bytes)
We do have some recovery shots.  I guess this does prove that we actually did launch them!
p1010135.jpg (66089 bytes)
Smiles abound on this cold dreary day.
p1010136.jpg (40256 bytes)
Sone of a gun, I DID get one decent shot of a launch!
p1010138.jpg (66568 bytes)
Some Triskelion kits didn't get launched at the last session, so we have them back here today
p1010142.jpg (79261 bytes)
The last of the Rhino kits.

We had one small mishap.  The modeler did not properly glue their engine mount in place.   The result was the entire engine mount sliding up, inside the body tube, gutting the tail end of the rocket and providing a flight of 10 feet up and back.   ick.
